Two Olympic Track Runners
were seen crying beneath the stadium after leaving the track.
Lolo Jones (from Des Moines, Iowa), could envision the gold medal around her neck. She could feel it. She knew it was hers.
Her foot clipped a hurdle and she staggered into seventh place at the Beijing Olympic track meet.
Sanya Richards, who resides in Austin, Texas, started her race strong and expected to run 400 meters in under 50 seconds, but that didn’t happen. Richards was ahead until she reached 320 meters and her hamstring grabbed her.
It was all she could do to reach that finish line. She almost didn’t make it, but finally ran to a third place victory. At least it would be a victory for some, but Richards felt it was a disappointment. She had expected gold.
Jones and Richards were both were seen crying beneath the stadium after leaving the track.
